This would depend on your home country, the languages you know, your travel budget and the other skills such as driving or motorcycle riding you have.
Sometimes, traveling alone can be more costly when you need to take a taxi or rent a car. Hence, I think a good place to start traveling yourself would be a place with good public transportation, affordable hotel (for one person) or hostels, and either possibilities to meet new people or activities that can be fun enjoying alone.

Highlights:
The public transportation in Taiwan is insanely convenient so don’t worry if you are just by yourself.
There’s a great hostel culture in Taiwan. You can find a lot unique places in cities like Taibei.
When I was in Taiwan, I pretty much only couch surfed. My hosts were all very friendly and educated. Most of them have also showed me around and took me to authentic food places.
Warnings:
Night market food is the best thing in Taiwan. You might wanna grab some new friends to go there together to try more kinds of food.
Myanmar:

Highlights:
In cities like Mandaley and Yangoon, it is very cost efficient to travel yourself. You can choose public transportation or take a motor taxi.
Rent a scooter to ride yourself and get lost over the Bagan plain with numerous temples and pagoda (I met one of my best friends this way)
Talk with people at your hostel/hotel and find friends to watch sunrise over Inle Lake
Warnings:
Most Burmese are very nice and friendly. However, be extra cautious when you take motor taxi at night. If possible, get your hotel to hire one for you. I almost got human trafficked from shady motor taxi.
Italy:

Highlights:
The public transportation in Italy can get you to most of places. There are also very high density of sites that you can enjoy in Italy.
A lot of cities in Italy are very walkable such as Florence and Milan. You can take flights or trains to get around the cities. Neither is that expensive. Then you can enjoy the cities by walking or biking.
Warnings:
If you are more a scenery person, then it’d be very hard for you to rent a car to drive around Tuscany. This is on the slightly more expensive end.

Highlights:
Malta is a really great vacation place blended with some level of history and culture. You can visit most places through local tours which charge you based on how many people you have (so friendly if you are solo).
You can enjoy all sorts of water activities there as well as trips to ancient archeologies.
Warnings:
I guess the only thing will be that it could be hard to take your surfing and swimming photos yourself.
City Recommendations:
Europe:
A lot of cities in Europe are very friendly for solo travellers. You can bundle the ones you wanna go and just take those cheap flight tickets in between. Some of the city recommendations I have would be Barcelona, Florence, Prague, Venice, Cinque Terre and Salzburg.
Asia:
Many asian cities are good to visit for like 6–7 days just by itself. Examples would be Seoul, Kyoto and Tokyo. Those cities have plenty of sites themselves and are also very well connected to surrounding cities and towns. For example, you can easily do a day trip to Mount Fuji from Tokyo
